Isobutyl Acetate is a medium boiling solvent with a typical mild, fruity, ester odor. It resembles n-butyl acetate and methyl isobutyl ketone in solvent performance and can be used as a replacement for these solvents in many formulations.
Details

- odor enables
- good solvent activity
- desirable evaporation rate
can be used in polymer paints
excellent solvent for cellulose nitrate, polymers, and many resins
It is also suitable for isocyanate and other lacquers that require solvents that are free from hydroxyl groups
Solutions of cellulose nitrate in isobutyl acetate are only slightly less viscous than those in n-butyl acetate, and they can be greatly thinned with common diluents.
