Advantages
  • Suitable for food contact according to
  • •EU Directive 90 /128 EEC: all components are on List A of the definitely approved products and also the resulting oligomeric intermediate, provided it is reacted in the finished product. Concluding: approved from all points of view.
  • •FDA listing 21 CFR 175.300, providing it is cured with e.g. GY 250, which is always the case in practice.
  • Properties in general:
  • •very short potlife
  • •strong exudation and some surface defects
  • •moderate flexibility, good adhesion, high hardness.
  • •very good resistance to solvents (even to conc. ethanol) and inorganic acids Addition of solvents has the following effects:
  • •longer potlife
  • •with toluene, ethylacetate and with butanol no exudation
  • •resistance to acids decreased
  • •resistance to solvents mostly increased (best is toluene)
  • •potable ethanol can be added to make food grade formulations sprayable
  • Exudation will prevent intercoat adhesion. Pigmentation and/or solvent can reduce/eliminate exudation. Air driers in tanks will (also) prevent exudation.
Other Applications

•coating of floors and drip pans
•coating of pipes and ship tanks
